Wide Body 1995 ?

I just purchased a 1995 Excella wide body, at least I think it is a WB Did Airstream make a 34 foot WB ( rear queen) in 1995 ? Also my title says it's a Classic . This model has the light blue trim.
Thanks for any help.
Ed

Wide body exterior is 8' 5.5". Check yours and see (cause I don't know when the date actually changed.)

Welcome to the forums, by the way. Happy trails.

Alumiliner Wide Body

I think AS began the wide body in 94, for sure by 95. That extra 5.5-6 inches makes a big difference inside. Congrats on the 34, you will love it. A visitor in ours once said he had never been in a camper before that had a hall in it! Safe & happy trails. John

According to the N.A.D.A. vehicle appraisal guide, 1996 marked the first year of the wide body. Although the '94 and '95 body was changed somewhat from the '93 (note panels on end cap) the true wide body began in the 1996 model year.

First wide bodies started in 1994.( not all models at same time) The shape of the trailer changed ( more square) and the shell was put together in section versus continuous rib.

Schu,

I also was under the impression that only 1996 and up were wide bodies. So I went to Airstream's website (Airstream, Inc :: Specs - 1990) to look at floor plans and specs. I did not find any wide bodies noted for 1994 and 1995. Do you know if they contiued to make the 8' wide narrow bodies and also make a few 8.5' wide bodies during those years?

The reason I would like to know is I have been looking for a 25' excella wide body. I have not been looking at any 1994 or 1995 models since I thought they were all 8' wide.

Photos of 34' Wide Body

Thanks for all the information.
Here are a few photos that might help.
The Airstream is in Fl. and I'm in RI. so I cannot take any measurements.
Would the Vin # help ?

Good looking trailer, looks like a widebody to me. As far as I know all 34's were Classics, with the Excella package. Some had the Limited package also. They are the ones with the red awnings & trim. John

The pix sure look just like our '99 Excella 1000 widebody. Are you sure about the year, i.e., you are looking at a plate on the AS which states the year?

Looks like our '97 "Widebody" as well. FWIW, we have been very happy with the trailer.

In 1994 the widebody started on the 34ft. model and then on other models the next year. One feature that also changed was the move from framed window glass to tinted non-framed window glass.
