Twin Mattress Replacement

Have a '94 Excella and need to either replace or recover the mattresses. They are good for sleeping, just a little dirty. Anyone know of a vendor?

We purchased foam from buyfoam.com and used an electric knife to cut it to the right curvy dimensions. It was a lot cheaper than purchasing custom- order mattresses, but if you want to go that way, I've heard that Rocky Mountain mattress is good.

We have twins and used Mattress Insider. We were very pleased and they were very helpful. Ordered and delivered very promptly. Makes all the difference to have a good mattress. Here's a link: Luxury RV Mattress | RV Mattress Gel Foam

Me too, mattress insider. I sent them the exact spec sheets from Airstream on the radial twins and they made me a great mattress.

We used Rocky Mountain Mattress to make their 8" twin mattress to the shape on Airstream Blueprints. In our Classic, the twin mattress could have been nearly 12" longer for a taller person.

We both have slept well on these new mattresses.

I saved this site from a post somewhere.... You can order the specific dimensions, and they will sew up a matching cover for it too. Pricing seems pretty competitive at around $200 for their best foam with the optional cover. Free shipping.

foam mattress slow recovery, memory foam, latex matresses, toppers, camping pads, eggcrate convoluted foam,

Did you get the 8" or 5.5" mattress?

Call Airstream customer service and ask them the brand that they use in their classic model.. (I Forget) --- There is major difference in quality and more importantly comfort.. I actually like it better than any other that I have...

We replaced the perfectly good double in our '96 because it wasn't nearly as firm as the twins in our '89. I checked the internet for 'Foam Mattress Supply' and found a manufacturer near us in Southern Ontario. We were able to purchase a double 8" foam mattress for just over $400, nicely rolled up and compacted in a plastic sleeve so we could carry it home.
The original mattress was 52" and over hang about 2" over the base. The new one is 54" so I built a small ledge along the edge of the plywood base. I made up templates of the curve at the bottom and top of the mattress to natch the wall, transferred the template to the new mattress and used a serrated carving knife to shave off the excess. Nice fit, but fitted sheets don't stay on the curved edge. BTW recommended knife is an electric carving knife as noted above...which I wasn't about to buy for a one off!
We had a choice of memory foam or straight urethane foam. We liked the stiffer foam. I was concerned about the 8' height but 2'' higher doesn't seem to make any difference in how things fit or look.
