Guess my weight...
I need to find out the weight of my 1994 34 foot Excella for a Texas registration. At one time I found it on the Airstream.com site but now I cant seem to locate it. Also would it appear on the trailer somewhere in a place that I could take a picture of it?

It should be on the outside where the VIN number is, it should have the GVRW on it. It may be written on the Registration from the PO if you have one.

Thank you Nick, I had a feeling I might find it on that tag but it's in storage miles from me.

If you are bringing it into the state and registering it here, they will accept the weight stated on the title. If the weight is not stated on the title, you will be required to have it weighed at a certified scale, and present that certificate.
I just went thru that a few months ago.

7100 is the curb weight. 800 the tongue weight. And 8900 the GVWR. Airstream's FAQ page is here. Select Trailer weights and open the link to a pdf doc.

All of this data is find and dandy, and no doubt accurate, but the fact remains, the State of Texas wants to see the weight that is stated on the title. If for whatever reason the title does not state the weight, and I learned some don't (such as Mass.), they insist on a weight statement from a certified scale.

Go to a truck scale or find a location in the phone book or internet search, that can provide a cert.

The California title does'nt show a weight either. The texas DMV said all they need is a picture of the tag on the trailer showing the weight to register it IF I was not bringing the Airstream into the state. Once I did bring it in they would only need to verify the vin number.

I think i should have another set of axles on mine.. I think i weigh in at 9300lbs with the S/O. I always thought the big boys would be heavier. Maybe a 34' with a S/O comes in significantly higher not sure.
