Hello Catsalesman -- welcome to the forum!

I've used my moderator secret decoder ring to find that you are one of thirty people who listed a '98 25' Safari in their profile -- about what I'd expect. Many have up to 5 posts. Member dannyo with 56 posts has been most active. Most possible questions are generic and answers are available in any event.

Pictures are appreciated!

Safari

Here are a few pics of mine. Had to get rid of the green carpet as it just was not my thing. Also have some new curtains on the way. My next project is the cover over the sofa.... any 1 have any good ideas ?

Also, did a conversion from the twins in the back to a queen, as my honey and I like to sleep in the same bed at night.

And yes, I have looked thru the site for possible ideas as well.

Oh and thanks for the info on the 98 safari's, I truly appreciate your hard work !!!

I'd suggest doing a forum member search, selecting your year and model only as trailer # 1 in search criteria. Then you could email or message a few owners and ask what they would value their units at, or better yet, if they have bought or sold their unit recently what the sale price was.

A few responses could give you a good idea of a true value, as well as be extremely useful if you were to need to make an insurance claim. Keep in mind that geographical area and season may affect values.

The NADA RV price guide does not give real world Airstream values.

I am seeing it tomorrow but if it is in average to above average I think the price is close to what it is worth...your thoughts?

Sorry I haven't been of much help with this thread. I saw it a while back and forgot about it. Catsalesman, I have a little different configuration. I have the six sleeper with a queen in back. It works out great for us, but the bathroom is super small. I have oak floors that I'm in the process of refinishing...they've already been sanded, just need a few coats of poly and I'll be ready to rock again. When I bought the trailer it didn't have the front couch, so I bought a new one and put it in there. When I finish getting everything put back, I will post up some pics.

Rookieair, did you buy the 'stream? I don't know what a fair price was, since I got mine from a friend. If you have any questions, just ask.

Everyone, I realize this is quite the late response, but it's worth a shot.

Hey guys I am looking for some advice. I have been actively shopping for an Airstream for the past 6 months. I cannot decide between and older mid 70s version or something newer. this 1998 caught my eye.
Airstream 1998 Safari
I did go and see i, the owner was very patient with me as I went through the entire trailer. The only thing that I saw that needed repairing was the leveling jacks.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 1988 25'. I think if you can find one in decent shape in the configuration you want you should buy it. Ours is center bath and twin bed, exactly what we want. Condition is everything for this age trailer. Check for floor rot and leaks. Price shopping is hard in this level of trailer. And you can probably get a longer one that age for less.
Things you may have to work on: Refig, AC, dump valves, brakes, areas of floor rot. (OSB in this model)
Things you can not really fix economically and have to live with or budget in: Dents, scrapes. corrosion of frame and body, and apparantly some leaks.
I think the price mentioned could be in the ballpark for one in nice condition.

I'm so curious to know some problem with it and some solution because I'm on the way of purchasing it.
