I have a question. Are Airstreams more expensive to insure that conventional trailers? We have a 06 Komfort 232TS (that is currently up for sale), and pay just over 240 dollars a year. Ca.
Also, are Airstreams more vulnerable to damage out on the road?
We want to own one and am curious about certain things that we perhaps take for granted in our current trailer.

It all depends on the trailer's current insurance replacement and repair costs. An AS is generally more expensive than similar sized SOBs, so you would expect a higher insurance cost.

Check on line at the various insurance site for price quotes.

Progressive is the only carrier I found to offer "agreed value' insurance. "Agreed value" is critical for those of us who own vintage trailers especially when dealing with hail.

I recently suffered a hail loss. Without the "Agreed Value" my losses would have greatly exceeded the insured value of the trailer. As it was, I'll be able to effect repairs.

A short time ago, I had a "run in" with a pick up truck that had pulled out in front of me. Damaged my auto (Audi A4) but totaled the pick up. When I took it in for repairs, the repair shop asked the insurance carrier I had. When I responded with the name of one of the long time major companies, he smiled and said they work well with that company. When I mentioned the carrier of the pick up (one of the newer highly advertised companies seen on television regularly) he told me it's a good thing I didn't have that insurance as they wouldn't touch my car if I did. How do we know that to exist until it's time to use them??? I'll bet the same is true with trailers of all kinds. I wouldn't purchase insurance for my soon to be purchased Airstream until after I'd spoken with repair shop folks about trailers. It couldn't hurt and it could save one heck of a headache down the road!!! Ask before needing them!!!

They are two high the are tryin for 20k its beenon Ebay 3 times and never had a bid over 13K

There is one on here n the cleveland Area 29ft I think.I also check in with a family operation In Helena ,Ohio they renovate P&S TRAILER SALES

The damage coverage was under the comprehensive (non-colision) policy section. Have had no impact to rates or insurability.

Have you considered going to one of those dent removal places? Just wondering if they could even do that on aluminum. I know the Ford House here does that. Just curious if it would be worth it?

Insurance carrier's authorized repair center said normal "dent removal" techniques would not work on the AS aluminum panels.

I was at a rally and watched a guy with a couple of small puller suction cups work on stone dents. Not perfect, perfect... but I was impressed. As stated very early in this thread, aluminum contracts and expands quite a bit, so over time the effect of sunlight and cold seems to minimize minor dents.
