One step at a time.
Does the key go in but not turn?
I'd try some graphite lock lube.
Or is the slot blocked or rusted?
I'd try some light machine oil (remember 3-in-one?)

Are you in Minnesota now and frozen?

Welcome to the forum shazz. If you have a queen bed, open rear storage compartment. Slide in on your back, and push up on the bed. Have a extra set of keys made for the tow vehicle. Hope this helps

Sounds like ice in the lock.

Warm the key gently with a lighter or match, see if it will go in. May take a couple tries to melt the ice.

The upper lock is very sensitive to how far the key penetrates (depth inserted). I had a locksmith make a duplicate key that would not unlock the lock. She remade key several time before realizing that the blanks head was slightly larger than the original. Even though it seemed to be fully inserted it wasn’t.

After a similar problem following an ice storm I poured windshield washer fluid over the locks and the key and all was fine after a few seconds.

All of the above suggestions. Also, try pushing strongly on the door. Sometimes it realignes the variuous parts of the lock.

Can't get key into upper lock

Apparently this is a common problem. We had it. Towed trailer 200 miles or so from Yuma AZ to Lazydays RV Airstream dealer, They had to drill about a half inch hole in the upper lock panel, remove the entire mechanism an install a new one. It appears that this lock is used on many other brands of RVs and this is a common problem. Grin, bear it and get to a dealer

Oh the irony of parking our Airstream in a motel parking lot the night before the dealer would be open....

keys

If you are using keys made at a store, make sure you are using the correct key.
Double check that you are not using look-a-likes. I've done that. Took me a while to figure it out.
