I am in the market for a 25 ' Safari. I intend to pull with my 1997 Ford F150 with 4.6 L, 3.55:1 axle and towpackage. (Tow rating is 7000#) It appears that GVWR for 2000 to 2004 Safari is 6300#. GVWR for 2005 and later is 7300#. I am reluctant to pull 7300# with 7000# rating.
What changes were made between 2004 and 2005 to add 1000#? Thanks!
I don't know the answer either and have wondered the same thing. But our 02 Safari 25B with the 6300# rating is very easy to pull as compared to our old trailer. We use a 3/4 ton truck but that is because of other payload reasons. Our old trailer was a typical 6000# fiberglass trailer that we towed with a Ford similar to yours and with our 3/4 ton truck. The 6300# Safari pulls much easier than our old fiberglass trailer.
