Not sure of the vintage you're referring to, but I'm 5' 16" and the only issues I have is leaving through the entrance door.

I've cracked my noggin on the door frame more than a few times

My hubby is 6'2", and he has learned to duck at the entrance door the hard way

How much time do you really spend standing up in there? Just learn to slouch a bit and you'll be fine!

I'm 6'3 and have never had any problem with the headroom except in the smallish bathroom of my tradewind. As for the entrance door, no dents yet in either the coach or my skull.

I got my trailer from the 6'4" previous owner. He didn't come right out and say that it was too small for him but I suspect it was part of his motivation to sell.

The head room may be important for the changing of clothes. However, more importantly, what is the length of the bed? I had to cut out a hole in the twin bed bulkhead so my feet could stick into cabinet under the sink. If it was a full bed I would have taken some of her share...

Good Luck

At 6'4", I am able to stand up fully in the aisle part of the trailer but need to duck under the AC and bulkhead crosspiece. The rear bath shower is another issue so I put in a sturdy piece of mahogany to rest across the tub and take a sit down navy shower. I have a permanent gouge in my noggin from the entrance door which I get most times when I'm wearing a cap. A non-padded cap.

And of course, my feet hang off the edge of the bed if I sleep on my back.

Some funny answers....

That makes me feel better if I get to get a safari 04 model.

I knew it would be close but figured I could modify my stance.

As someone that has been 5' 17" all of his adult life, I thought I was used to having to duck for the things that were made for you "normal" folks.

But I have to admit, the sleeping area bulkheads in my Sov have caught me so many times I now make sure to always wear a hat when in the trailer.

too tall

We have a Safari (99) and my 6'3" husband has no problem. Maybe 21 years in the Navy on submarines has something to do with that!

My 6'3'+ and growing 16 year old son likes to stand under the a/c and complain that the trailer is getting too small. Complaining is his nature so I just roll my eyes. He still has a heavy inch or so before contact!
We will put him in a nice tall dome tent if he keeps complaining.

Had a converted bus that I could stand up in in the front area and it got shorter as you went to the back ,at the stove I could stand by holding head against roof lazy way to cook also really small chance of ever falling down ,and I like to sleep with my feet hanging out of bed!

That is exactly the technique I use when using the head in my Tradewind. In other words when in the head I use my head. It steadies the aim and avoids complaints from the wife which is also using my head.

Airstream has had various interior heights in various models in various years. The best years were the early '60s trailers for standing up (I'm 6'5"). I could stand up in our '85 motorhome. Our '94 tri-axle didn't have nearly the headroom clearance.

Fortunately, you don't really spend that much time standing. It's much more important to me to have a bed that is long enough... and they're VERY hard to find. Frankly, that was one of the reasons we bought our Bigfoot... I can stand completely upright in the shower, and I have a full 80" queen bed in the bedroom.
