2004 Safari 28' W interior photos

Here are a couple of photos of the new 2004 Safari 28 W that Airstream introduced a couple of months ago. The CCD 28 has the same floor plan.

Thanks for posting the pics, IMHO it looks like a very low end SOB, or something made by a third world country

Actually, I like the layout and some of the CCD carry-overs (like the aluminum in the galley and the mini-blinds) but I've never really liked the "Stratus" color scheme. I think the "Amarillo" color scheme would look much better in the 28' Safari, even the "Spellbound" and "Spice Trader" would look better than Stratus. But to each their own!

I have to agree. When we looked at all the interior fabrics, Stratus was actually our least favorite.

We settled on Spice Trader since spellbound seemed a bit much. I didn't mind Amarillo too much, but Brandi didn't care for it at all and we both liked Spice Trader....

I like the layout of the 28'.

Thanks for the pics!

I don't care for Stratus either.

My new Classic 25 has "Cashmere". Probably not my first pick, but I bought it off the lot. Actually, the more I look at it, the more I like it. At first, I liked the bedroom stuff a lot better than the couch, but yesterday while watching the tech prepare the trailer, I started to like the couch more and more. It is a very subtle fabric.

I'm not a big fan of laminates, but I do like veneers.

I wonder how many hours it would take to pull out all the interior pieces and glue some nice veneers over the laminates? Do veneers stick to laminates?

I think that would be an improvement, and wouldn't add much wieght to the Safari.

There's a lot of nice veneers that can be purchased on-line through such suppliers as Oakwood Veneer Co. http://www.oakwoodveneer.com/

Wow!!

I think it looks great. We are considering the 25 ss with amarillo but the more I see the interior you have the more I like it. You only need to change the seat cushions, valances and throw pillows when it is time for a change. It really brightens up the inside. The abundance of windows rocks! I love the double dinette windows and wrap around front windows, and the ccd bedroom seemed the largest I had walked in and THOSE windows make me drool. We called about the interior 25 ss in the ccd and told no swapping, but windows are prime and I wonder if I want to give up my sob without seeing out the windows. Can't pull a 28' maybe.

How do you feel about the combined tank, 70 gallons is great but are there any draw backs or special care necessary? Maybe they are so large that they won't back up but our Towlite fills up fast and the shower makes us first aware (only 18- or 22 gallon grey, I think)

I wish I had your AS!

If you take a look at this link..While it did not say anything about "laminates", it implies a backing finis that is not laminated. Rather, seems to suggest a raw board finish approach..
Hints for Applying Veneer
If you do this, I'd like to see how it turns out for you..
