Ah, now it makes sense. Running the genny to keep the tank heaters on I presume? That would certainly account for the difference vs. my experience. The furnace and water heater just don't burn my propane relative to the generator.

With regards to the macerator pump ... I have to admit that at the time I did not even think about it and somehow did not have any trouble. Since then I have adopted the practice of dumping the tanks, then adding antifreeze and dumping again so that the sewage lines are all protected.

When I run in winterized mode we take bottled water and use RV anti-freeze to flush the toilet. Seems to work well.
