I am told by dealer that the frame that holds the window is defective and AS will not warrant this because it is a (window) manufacturers defect and not an installation workmanship issue.
How die the frame that holds the glass get "defective"? Isn't it a bit a cheap shot?

Your Airstream dealer is trying to get out of doing some paperwork.
I had a problem with my Atwood water heater right after I bought my Interstate. Airstream doesn't warrant the water heater; Atwood does. To get the water heater repaired, I took my Interstate back to the dealer, and
THEY contacted Atwood and made arrangements to get reimbursed by Atwood for performing the warranty repair. It's not like I could go to my local Atwood dealer to get it fixed; there isn't one.
Your CR Laurence windows should be handled the same way. Your Airstream dealer should handle the legwork and paperwork to get the window repaired or replaced at CR Laurence's expense. After all, it's not like there is a local CR Laurence dealer you can take it to!
