where is the best place to learn how a 2014 AI works

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to this forum and owner of a 2014 AI!!! I'm super excited to road trip, camp and tailgate, but the previous never camped in it and only used it to travel, so I need someone to go over with me how everything works.
I called the nearest Airstream dealer, but they want $500 to do a walk thru, is this a normal fee?
Just getting my feet wet and want to get started in the right direction
Thanks
Rich

Welcome to the forum, Rich!

Start by reading your owner’s manual, and perusing the list of topics in this forum. Plenty of reading to start with.

The new search function in the blue box above works great, using a laptop or computer, to search the main desktop site. The search function in the App is not as productive apparently.

FWIW “Interstate book” results: https://www.google.com/search?q=Inte...com&gws_rd=ssl

After you have digested the manual etc. feel free to ask questions. [or before . . . ]

Happy Trails!

Peter

Hi Rich! Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to learn and share!

You might want to find the local unit of the Airstream Club (https://wbcci.org/). There you will find like minded individuals who would be happy to help you understand how things work and do it in person. I've enjoyed being a member and have learned much for other members.

And, of course, the forum can help.

ON THE ROAD👍....when you get to Colonial Airstream you can go over with them what you haven't learned on the trip.

Welcome to the forum...

There are also some good videos on the Airstream Owner's page...

https://www.airstream.com/owners/how-to-videos/

Just select those about the Interstate. They might be for newer Interstate, but most of the information is applicable to your 2014 model. You could also search YouTube for videos about the Interstate.

Also a good idea to download a PDF copy of your owner's manual from Airstream. Then you can keep it handy on a laptop or tablet for easy reading and quick searches.

Would be a good idea if you could connect with an owner of similar coach near you would could show you all the features.

Good luck,

PS — Rich, the one topic you might want to start with is “battery care” which can catch you unawares when you least need it. These search results may help:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Inte...=airforums.com

Interstates have their own unique electrical system and terminology, so best to go in with eyes wide open IMO. Many of your fellow AI owners here are knowledgeable.

Also, this Battery School source is good general reading:

http://www.batteriesnorthwest.com/batteryschool.cfm

Great recent suggestion from Mike about AS videos and YouTube.

Cheers,

Peter
