Most locks of that type have a retaining mechanism. I wonder if they left something out since this seems to be a problem with more than just one.

This has a retaining mechanism, but the spring for the retainer is weak (I'm guessing for ease of assembly purposes). The instructions says to use the key to extract the insert, but the tumbler pulls out instead due to the weak spring. It would probably work ok on a straight inlet pipe, but our Interstates uses a curved water inlet pipe.

Not good to hear I hoped mine was just a bad one looks like there are having a general problem. I send a email to the address on the website no response in 2 days. Maybe I should just return it to Amazon.
This forum is great with a lot of good people with all there experience helps a lot for a newbie like me.
Thanks
Peter

I fixed mine. Added a pice of plastic opposite of the snap mechanism which now limit the wiggle you got to pull it out. I tried it several times worked fine. Still will carry my needle nose plier.
Looks like the hole in the plastic insert for the key cylinder is to big.

The lock mechanism came out n mine as well. I was able to reinsert it and finally get the device out of the neck. At this point I am not confident of using it. I don't need something more to worry about when I'm on the road. The lock is getting sent back.
