Venture Volt Batteries
Hello guys,
I've been looking at replacing my batteries to lithium batteries. I spoke to an Airstream dealer and recommended to use Venture Volt batteries. He said that it's from the same guy who started Zamp Solar. The cost for a dual battery install with a controller is $7k. Have you guys heard of Venture Volt? I can't find any current reviews on them. It's a 240 amp hour setup. Thank you so much in advance.

It looks like the kit throws in a charger you likely won't need, and you can get more bang for your buck with this or this.
When you say a "dual battery install" what does that mean? 240amp? If so, $7k is a bit much in my opinion if all you are getting is a charger and 240amps. It would cost about $5000 to upgrade to a 400 amp dual drop in battery system, with 3, 100 watt solar panels, and a new solar charger, for instance, not including labor.
One other issue I see-it does not appear to have any battery management system at all. That means if it goes over voltage, charges while it's too hot, or too cold, the batteries could be damaged. The others linked above contain a battery management system (BMS) that will keep that from happening.
I'm not impressed from what I saw in the brochure, and certainly not $7000.00 impressed.

Is that price for install or just equipment. What about solar panels. I put a 320 amp hour Victron lithium system in with 500W or solar panels, a new inverter/charger, DC/DC converter, BMS, battery monitor, and also all new wiring and electrical distribution for just under 10K. Batteries were 4K. All Victron equipment which is considered one of the “Cadillac” brands in solar. I would rather go with a known brand, especially if the price is more for a new brand. Check out www.amsolar.com. Great education site and equipment with rock solid support.

I'm on the west coast and have the same question as the OP (pretty sure it's one group of dealerships for our states). They quoted over $11k for a group of 4 batteries (480Ah?) I'm not sure if that included any other components. They immediately said they could work a better deal, but I'm already seeing red flags.
Would sure love to find a "gold standard" kit I can purchase myself that comes highly recommended. Then I'd just need to find someone to install it (I'm not DIY in this area). I don't mind spending what it takes, but nothing worse than spending these kind of #s on junk.

Yes, 4K for batteries, about 5k for everything else. I did all the labor myself.

I'm very happy with the Battleborn batteries and two of them fit right into my battery box.

I spoke with the tech at the dealer (who does all their lithium installs) about these, in case it's helpful to others.
The company is now called Expion360, and there's a couple key benefits with this kit he described:
1 - They were designed specifically for Airstream (not sure if there's more to it than the arrangement/dimensions. At the very least they're going to be heavily tested in them I suppose)
2 - They say it's the only setup on the market now where the BMS is serviceable/replaceable. When others fail, you have to replace the entire unit as one (Over my head, but maybe others can validate this claim)
He said he's installed about 50 kits recently and he's impressed with them. Feels they are high quality compared to most.
Product page for 2-battery kit
They have a 4-battery kit that's not listed the website. They want a little over $10k, including parts & labor. Doesn't include other components, like monitor, etc.
