Valve Extensions

After reading all the info on this outstanding blog regarding everything possible for a new guy to absorb. Would like to know what your opinion on dealer (Colonial) installed valve extenders. Research has indicated Dulley Valve Extenders is the way to go. Not sure which brand the dealership will use. Any suggestions would only help and much appreciated.

Borg Dually Valves are a great way to go. I've used them on two sprinter RV's with no problems. For your interstate the part number is: DL1SPAL (you only need the rears). Purchase them at: yourtireshopsupply.com. Then have them installed at a competent tire shop that agrees to follow the included instructions. As a sidenote, while you're having them installed, have your front wheels balanced as well as the rears. Seems like many Sprinters are shipped with out of balance wheels. Good Luck!

Tire shop guys don't recommend using the compound. They will balance the wheels with the dually valves installed so shouldn't be any issues.

I had the Borg valve stems put on today. They look great and gives me peace of mind by removing those plastic extensions that MB put on the Sprinters.

Is the extender for the outer aluminum wheel long enough to allow use of a regular chuck or do you still need to use the special chuck?

Inner stems are long and protrude a couple inches past the aluminum rim with rubber stabilizers in the Alcoa wheel hand hole. Outer stems have a return bend on them and they protrude about an inch past the wheel. Both stems are easily aired using a standard straight air chuck.
