I notice that Magnum has two similar remotes, the ME-RC and the ME-ARC. What is the advantage with the ARC? The main thing I wish to accomplish is to match the Magnum to the battery capacity which is now 220AH.
Thanx,
Bill

No need for the ARC unless you are a total techie and like to continually look at data that the ARC provides. In all of the Magnum installations I gave done over the last 10 years, I have only used 2 ARCs vs. the RC remotes.

Both have the same programming parameters for battery charging. Both are much better than the ME-MR that Airstream provides.

Save the bucks and use the ME-RC.

Lew, I ordered a ME-RC, could you give me the parameters to use? I know to set the capacity at 220 but what should I use for the others?
Thanks,
Bill

Here are the ME-RC settings I use for a 220 A/H Lifeline bank:

Search watts: 5
LBCO: 11.5
Absorb time: 1.5
Battery type: AGM-1
Charge Rate: 100%
VAC dropout: 100
Power save: 1 min
Screen setup: 100%/100%
Final charge: Multi
Power up always: No

.........ahhh thank you, that's good news. So my ME-MR will be good for a while.

AH set for 400 instead of 200, which gives me 90 minutes absorb, helps greatly. The only other question; Lifeline gives 7.10 to 7.30 absorption charge voltage for the GPL-4CT. This would make it 14.2 to 14.6 volts in series. Theoretically then the battery type could be set to AGM-2, which I did. Would I miss something by doing that?

The voltage should be 14.2-14.4 for 12 VDC systems, which you have. The Magnum usually splits the difference to 14.3VDC. I would leave it on AGM-1.

I do have a question. I want to make sure that I don't ruin these so is it okay to leave coach plugged in all the time when the unit is in the garage or should I disconnect? Still has the standard Magnum inverter.

Thanks
Dalwyn -- any more info you can share on the "custom" battery cages? Assume you mounted in the same location as the stock batteries under the coach? I'm interested because I want to do this same upgrade for my soon to be delivered 2016. Thank you!

Thanks for the wealth of information which I used to upgrade my batteries to 200A/H lithium.

Could you give me a the set up for the ME-RC for 200A/H Lithium. The batteries are Battle Born Batteries 2 x Group 27 each with 100A/H with build in management system.

I also just burned the ground out of my MMS1012 and are wondering if this could anything to do with the new batteries or did Airstream just do a bad install (loose wire) when they upgrade me from a Tripp-Lite.

Due the Lithium need the BTS?

You help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

peter
