un-winterizing 2011 Interstate

Good Morning,
I am preparing to drive from MD to OR. As I was trying to refill the fresh water, I realized rather quickly that the dummies that winterized my coach forgot to put back the water tank drain plug (under the chassis, behind the driver door). Can someone tell me the plug size (1/2"?) so I can pick up a replacement. Many thanks and super excited to get on the road.
Cheer,
bb

If you don’t get an answer here, might drive to a plumbing/heating supply place and they should be able to fix you right up.

Get one for now, and at least one for next time....always good to carry a spare one of this particular item.

That's one long road trip! If you haven't already done so, check all the access doors to see if they stored the plug it in one of those cubby holes. Also check the water heater to see if that plug is installed. The freshwater plug on mine is 3/4" internal diameter and 15/16" external. Has a coarse thread like a garden hose.

I had problems with my plastic plug wanting to cross-thread into the plastic tank so I have replaced the drain plug on my fresh water tank with a different fitting. One side of the short fitting has a male thread that screws into the tank and the other side has a male hose end. I then got a hose-end cap (female fitting) that I screw onto the male hose end. This lets me remove the hose cap by hand and eliminates the cross threading. The fitting is short enough that it does not stick up into the tank - so I can drain out every last drop. And the hose cap end does not stick down any lower than the original plug.
