I wish the GT was available with the older style jackknife facing sofas in the rear -- that could be converted into beds at night. We have a 2017 on order with the sofa in the back, but I am concerned about the comfort of the bed in such configuration.
On that thought, can anyone recommend a topper that is compact enough to fold (stuff?) into the overhead storage when not in use?

Welcome to the AirForums.
You might want to try the bed before you look for a topper. Personally I found the bed comfortable the few times I used it.

We have a three inch foam topper that makes the bed so much more comfortable. We just roll it up in the morning and store it behind the lounge on top of the fold down bed extensions. Our Super Bag goes into the rear overhead storage compartment.

Thank you for the welcome, 73shark - and for the info, Kwils25!
I'm so excited thinking about our first RV, just trying to get everything lined up that might be helpful when we go to retrieve her! November won't come soon enough!!!

Regarding those older jackknife facing sofas, as I mentioned above, I'm in love with the darned things. I've actually considered buying extras, if I could find them (I'd probably use them in the spare room in our house). In case this is of use, the label on ours reads as follows:
Atwood Mobile Products
Elkhart Operations
"Home of Better Products" Seating Components

Yes it can be too bad regardless of the intent. The Interstate is based on the Sprinter 3500 chassis which is the freight version. The passenger version is the Sprinter 2500. In our 2013 AI passengers riding on the lounge risk bruising from the seatbelt and whiplash. Even with the seat belts snuggly fastened lounge passengers spend at least as much time airborne as they do on the cushions. Attach a TOAD or trailer and the ride becomes almost tolerable because the additional drag retards the vicious snap from the springs.

Twin conversion
Bought a used 2014.5 lounge in January. Wanted a twin, but used low-mileage twins are hard to find. Spent a total of 11 nights on the sofa so far. Saturday night, I said "This is the last night I'll sleep on this sofa." Started a sofa to twin conversion yesterday.
I have a new thread started that will detail my conversion with photos.

Twin works great for wife and I but I can see why folks with kids would need a lounge. Some close friends just purchased a brand new 2015 twin in Las Vegas and they are ecstatic. They like us have no at home kids so the twin works well for them too. We've been around the USA twice in ours, about 8,000 miles each time.
