Toilet paper roll holder

I'm not sure if it's just the 2014.5, but whoever designed that is a moron!

What issues are you having? Is there any way to make it better?

It's on some gear thing that falls off constantly. No idea yet on how to fix it.

Have you contacted Airstream and asked them?

That's definitely a first world problem.

It's really a pretty handy and simple to operate device. It's function is to roll up any hanging paper when you close it to use the shower. Don't try to get too fancy when loading the roll, simply drop the spool with the roll into the top grooves.

You have to have the roll loaded so the paper hangs down from the front. If you pull upwards or even out, then it will easily unhook from the gears. Once you get used to the way it works, you may decide its rather a neat idea!

This is wrong according to my lifetime training. (guess who)??

TP is to be mounted so that you tear it off from the bottom. This way you are always getting a clean sheet?

Don't own an interstate. Didn't initially understand the problem.

Whether to set up the roll so that paper comes over the top or out the bottom seems to be the leading cause of divorce in the USA. It's a habit, but really why is anyone SO passionate about this? I had (notice the past tense) friends who nearly came to blows - and fought in public over this issue. For their first anniversary I bought them a floor stand that held two rolls side by side - and put two rolls on it, orienting them in opposite directions. Thought I was offering them an easy compromise. They were enraged at me. The first new car I ever owned got keyed the next night. Coincidence? Not likely since the TP holder was left in my lawn with red paint on it. Thought about calling police, but then how would they escalate? Realized losing crazed friends is a good thing.

Simply avoided them from then on. Almost 15 months later some graduating seniors TP'ed their house with well over 100 rolls of toilet paper. It made the local news.

Did I happen to have a receipt for 3 cases of TP from Costco just a day or two before that?

Is revenge a dish that is best served cold?
Does Karma ever need a helping hand?

Why did I even think about this 30 years later? Last fall an old, old man with an oxygen mask came to my work. He'd found me through Airforums. I didn't recognize him, but he wanted to apologize and make amends for damaging my car, and leaving me too afraid (prudent) to file a police report. I was on his bucket list. I then admitted to having his house TP'ed.

He laughed and admitted he and his wife had filled several grocery bags with the stuff and used it. My two takeaways? 1) Sometimes you think you're punishing someone, but they feel rewarded. 2) You're gonna wipe your nasty smelly fanny with the stuff... and you roll it UNDER the roll so you get a CLEAN sheet? Come on don't you KNOW the right way IS over the TOP? (tongue in cheek!)

Not too long after my wife I started dating, I discovered she rolled the toilet paper the wrong way. (I won't say which that is.) I thought for a moment and decided that we would probably find better things than that to fight about in the future, so I decided to get used to it. I have come to the realization that I was right on both counts. I made the right decisions and we have found better things to disagree about. I therefor am glad I started out with 0 rather than -1.

I think now after 20+ years that I'm probably about -1253.

Ken

Well, I have to agree with Ken that there are other things to stand your ground on.

I have learned to live with it just like all the other changes in my life that I did not originally think might happen.

Did a study once and found that folks that squeeze toothpaste in the middle of the tube also have their TP come off the bottom rather than over the top.
