The New Airstream Westfalia

Saw this new model at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa this weekend. It's the same "Sprinter" chassis as the Interstate model (Mercedes diesel engine) but with a body made primarily in Germany by Westfalia and "upfitted" by Airstream for sale in the US. Price is about the same as the Interstate ($80k range).

The interior is extremely clever. Little compartments everywhere for everything. Thoughtful touches throughout. Note the optional "surfboard carrier" mounted on the side! The only real negative I spotted was the 5.3 gallon black tank. Fit and finish are first-rate, commensurate with fine German cars.

They've come a long way from the '66 VW Westy that I used to take to Grateful Dead concerts...

It's the cabin height, and I'm not sure exactly what part of the interior that refers to (driving seats, dining area?) The kitchen space is much taller, although for some reason they don't specify it. I stood comfortably in the kitchen and I am 69" tall.
