Late March will find us heading to California from NC. Last summer we had our 50th class reunion. My best friend from the fifth grade, and our best man at our wedding, has built a house overlooking Monterrey Bay. He invited us out for a visit. He has a fifth wheel and is arranging a camping trip.

Should be interesting as he is a retired PHD Botany/Biology professor and has taken students on field trips all over California. Traveling with him to parks is like having your very own Google person with you. On our 25th anniversary he and his wife took us to Yosemite for a couple days. After he answered my umpteenth question about the park, I asked him if there was anything he didn't know about the park. His answer, "Nothing of significance."

We are taking the southern route out and will visit with my sister in LA as well. Should be fun.

Leaving soon for Palm Springs and Joshua Tree with stops in Pismo Beach and Big Sur on our return trip. I'm very excited! Haven't thought about summer yet but the Oregon coast may be calling.

Since I live in Arizona, I can say the spring (April-May) is really pretty with the desert plants in bloom, and in May many of the cacti are in flower. Go for it!

It's looking like this summer might not quite live up to the summer of 2014, as far as camping trips go. So far, our plan is to spend some nights on the construction site in San Diego where we'll be building a new house. I guess that's not so bad, when you consider that it's right next to a microbrewery.

California! Such a beautiful state.. And the coastal weather can't be beat. I grew up in a little town called San Clemente. Drove a convertible MG all through high school, didn't have top and really didn't need one..

Hi, our only experience with DC was their crappy airport; We have no desire to ever go there again. I would like to make it to Maine some time in the future.

Will be home from Winter travels early April.....have to deal with the tax man ....then camping things close to home til mid-June..... thinking the UP then, for 6 weeks or so....home for a grand's birthday.....then east and North across the lakes to upper New York state, work my way down, visit some friends, and perhaps check out the new Alumalina site late October before heading home.

God willin' and the creek don't rise, as they say.....you never know what the day might bring.

Plan to keep going til I can't go no more.

Maggie

Booked for Grayton Beach and back to Topsail in May, down to Ft. Desoto in April and then 12 days at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park in July. Still thinking about June but maybe Suwanee River area or Ocala National Forest. I should add, as long as the Lord's willing and the creek don't rise....
