I just take my Airstream Interstate to Blue Beacon Truck Wash, make sure the roof vents are closed, and let them go to it. They have long spray wands that let them reach the roof without having to climb anything.

I bought one of these adjustable handle Camco RV brushes on Amazon. I was really surprised by the quality for the price.

Anyway, I use my power washer to spray a water and soap solution (Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash) on the roof, use a ladder to scrub the roof with the brush, and then rinse with the power washer on a low pressure. Works great....for the whole trailer, in fact.

I use Meguiars on the roof just as I do the rest of the van. I am not real sure why I bother, because the little bit of dirt that collects there cannot be seen and doesn't seem to be enough to hurt anything. I suppose the solar collectors might benefit by the occasional cleaning, and the cleaning also provides an opportunity to look for any problems up top.

What is the cost of that? We take ours to Mr Car Wash and they charge circa $90 for a full exterior (not interior) cleaning.

I am also a big fan of Blue Beacon, who do a really great job, and the full RainX coating keeps bug bits and grime sliding off easily long after the original wash.

If you get the undercarriage wash, it is about $35 for mine, otherwise $28 or so with the RainX. The Extended may be a bit more. They have a locator app.

One of the problems that has developed on the roof of my older rig is spots of rust, so I think getting up there regularly...yourself...and perhaps routinely coating with wax, which we did not, would be beneficial for avoiding the problems mine is experiencing.

I know that at least one owner and her husband, InterBlog, coated their roof with BusKote.
