Sprinter maintenance near East TN

We used to take our AI to Freightliner to service the Sprinter part of the van. They quit doing that. Local Mercedes dealer doesn't have a lift large enough to hold it so they can't do it. Found a European shop that was doing maintenance but they lost their Sprinter tech. Now where?

Any of you living close to East TN - can you recommend a shop. I'll go as far away as Birmingham if I need to.

The Knoxville Mercedes/Sprinter has been doing my AI service since 2013.

The only thing they wouldn’t touch was alignment. Have to go to Central Alignment in North Knoxville.

I'm not doubting you, but how long is your AI. Ours is the 24' extended. They can only do the service that allows the van to stay on the ground. I had to go pick it up for anything that requires a lift. That's when I switched to Freightliner.

If I were you, for any work that is significant in scope, I'd go see Lloyd Walker at MB Atlanta.

He used to manage Sprinter of Clear Lake (a standalone Sprinter shop) about 1.5 miles from me, but he got promoted out of that job and into Atlanta. He knows Sprinters - that's his specialty.

Our AI is the Lounge EXT. They have done A and B service, replaced defective NOX sensors, replaced all 6 tires. I suppose it’s possible they could’ve been working off floor jacks. Never checked, never cared.

There’s a place in Morristown, TN where the lead mechanic, Gustav, is a factory trained Sprinter tech. He worked at a Dodge dealer before coming to Budget Auto Clinic. They worked on my van and did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to let them work on it again.

I went to a MB dealer outside of Birmingham (Hoover) that did sprinters. They took a look at my AI (2006) for the water pump, but didn’t have one.

We ended up at MB of Marietta (north side of Atlanta) They did a good job. VERY expensive.

This was Spring time this year.
