I cannot speak to installing one in an Interstate, but I have a friend who bought one and uses it at her house, and I was surprised by how well it worked - exactly like advertised. And it was holding up to the comings and goings of kids and pets. As I was reading through this thread I was thinking it seemed like a pretty good solution.

The screening is actually very sturdy, plus the whole thing rolls up nicely and stores under a rear bench.

The screen has effectively deterred bees and flies. Has yet to be held to the real test.....mosquitoes.

I suspect these critters, and no-see-ums...which are particularly persistent in their pursuit of human flesh...will require closing the door.

Still, an inexpensive door covering which allows us to enjoy the ventilation that having that sliding door open provides.

Can you close the sliding door with the screen in place?

The no-see-ums should be out soon. A week from tomorrow I am leaving for a week in northern Florida. I'll let you know how it holds up for those pesky rascals.

That is if I can get out of the drive way. Sunday we are in for .7 inches of ice and temps in the teens until the day we (my wife, two wire coat doxies and me) leave.

Reporting from North Florida right now.... All insects have frozen or drowned...the few survivors are holding close to the ground to keep out of the wind....but stand by, Protagonist will shortly post on the breeding habits of near microscopic biting thingies...

No.

We just take it down once we are in for the night.

The screen opens in the center, held closed there by magnetic tabs, attaches at the sides with bits of velcro tape.

We have something similar for the rear door opening, attaches with velcro tape all around and zips up the center.

No, he won't. I don't know about their breeding habits; I'm not an insect voyeur, so even when they leave the blinds open, I don't watch them!

Oh Geesh... How to take full advantage of this post.... Should it be a snark about "breeding habits" or Pro's "knowledge" of them or Dilbert-like concrete thinking -- oh, heck... He's too nice for that.
I know let's post a picture

This one claims to keep out the no-see-ums but is just for the front door windows.
