Secure water fill cap for safety

I have been concerned with the security and safety of the water fill inlet for the built-in tank. The screw-on fill port is a PERKO brand. I purchased a PERKO “locking insert” #0525DPOBLK. The card says better than a locking “gas” cap but it is for the PERKOP water inlet ports. Cost was in the $25 range. Difficult to insert into the PERKO water inlet due to a slight ridge where the horizontal inlet turns downward about 45 degrees. Follow instructions and it reminds you to “trim off” the ridge. Be careful so the plastic debris you cut or trim off does not fall into your water tank. We had 3 hands doing it with a vacuum and flashlight to solve the problem. It works. It comes with 2 metal keys with a “handle” built onto the key which you need to help insert and remove the inlet blocking device.

I tried to buy the water lock last month....was told they were out of stock and unavailable. Looked further and found they were being recalled due to material strength issues. If I can find the email they sent me I will post more details.

I had an issue with the cylinder staying in the body of the lock. I add a piece of plastic orotund the locking cylinder and now it works fine. Not easy to remove but better then no lock.

I didn't order one of these because of problems that other posters were having. Perhaps now that they are recalled Perko will redesign them.
