Seat belt chime

A friend of mine is on the road in their 2014.5 Interstate and their seat belt chime is going off. He said it is driver seat.

Any ideas how to quiet it besides a trip to the dealer?

Some thoughts.
Is your friend sure it is the seat belt chime? If it is there should be a red seatbelt warning light on the dash.

Could it be the dreaded step/awning chime? If so cycling the awning out and back in usually clears it.

Of course I assume your friend is wearing their seat belt when in the driver's seat.
