Yes they are factory installed. Another hint is that they are heated as controlled by switch on the dash.

Recently insulated the space between the glass and the airstream panel with reflectex. Here are some close up pix. Looks like the window may be Mercedes. The edge is finished and looks to be factory painted.

Mario,

Are you leaving the trim and shades off of the rear doors (AI really closes off the rear windows)? It seems that would be a better solution for driving and then putting reflectix in at night when you're camped. BTW did you get the reflectix locally?

Different situation but similar. Closed driver door on my brand new PU last year. Windshield cracked all the way across. Dealer said no warranty on glass, but we'll photo and send in claim request to see what GM says. GM had me file on my insurance and they (GM) paid my deductible. Worth a shot. Good luck, and sorry about your trouble.

New window installed today.
Airstream dealer was useless. Never asked how, or where or when. Just went right to, "Glass isn't covered, you should file with your insurance."
Not really what you want to hear 15 days after dropping 130K. Or a very prudent practice when the glass is only $300 installed.

Mercedes was helpful in getting it setup with OEM glass, and getting it done in a timely fashion.

If the RV dealer you bought it from has a matching unit in stock have them just switch out the complete
door with the other unit.

Hi Grant,

No. I re-installed the rear panels.

The reflectex is a semi-permanent installation. Not only is it secured by the tension of the Airstream back window panels, but also with some heavy duty outdoor type velcro strips located on the metal window frame.

Last year I tried some cheesy camping world relfecetex squares stuck to the rear windows with some low grade velcro squares. They lasted a day. A days worth of sun exposure melted the velcro adhesive and let the sqaures slide down the window. Messy and sticky. Found that with this new installation, with the rear facing the sun (as it does in my driveway), it blocks a substantial amount of heat.

Bought the relfectex in a Home Depot near Shoreline, Washington. Then brought the whole damn roll with me in the teardrop trailer While I was out there I did manage to cut some side window panels, of which one is also semi-permannetly installed in the window behind the galley.
