Radio antenna

Can anyone tell me if the radio antenna on a 2011 sprinter is an "active" antenna?

Yes I believe it is - based on the power connection shown on this eBay page for the OEM antenna.

I should add - to be sure I'd have to check a wiring diagram and look at the actual installation. That is hard to do on my Interstate as there is a storage compartment under the antenna that covers the interior wiring.

I can confirm that it is amplified! Traced the wire from the antenna to the "main harness plug.. Starts out purple, changes to yellow with a black tracer for the rest of the run,
Makes a huge difference I performance with it powered,

Has anyone found a reliable source for wiring information for these things?

Seems simple enough from the ebay picture. Purple is the power. The black is the signal and it gets ground from the screw terminal.

Ron - finally found some time to get the wiring documents from MB WIS. Hopefully these will help. I also included the document with some basic info on use of MB wiring diagrams.

Thank you boxster 1971!

How do you get your information from MB WIS?

Also I might add, yes it was a problem tracing the wire because of the
storage tray! I found that the wiring color changed due to a plug behind
that tray.

I have a bootlegged copy of 2015 version from eBay. It runs inside a virtual machine on my desktop PC. It was only about $12 and a real challenge to get it running properly on my PC.

But it is not updated by official connection to Mercedes. For accurate parts lists I pay $75/year for subscription to official Mercedes EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog).

I'm an engineer that likes the technical information. It's one of my hobbies. [emoji1]
