Please Use Private Messages Rather than Profile Comments

I owe a few folks on this forum an apology for the delayed response to questions made as comments on my profile page.

I don't look at comments on my profile page very often since I mostly follow the forum via the app on my iPhone and iPad.

Better to send me a Private Message (PM) in the future if you want a timely response. I get email alerts for PMs, but not for comments.

Thanks,

MIKE - Did not even know there was such a thing Profile Comment. Lucky I have never used it. But I bet now that I have seen it, will end up using it instead of PM I wonder why they even have that option?

I agree. I seldom look at the profile stuff and I am often surprised by questions that have been there for some time.

You can change your Profile Privacy settings in the User CP, to restrict comments to Friends only [the most restrictive setting I believe]. PM's are a pain also IMO.

PMs are fine, just a little cumbersome and they are private. Profile Comments are public and can be seen by anyone unless you change your privacy settings.

MIKE, OTRA15 - I have only known to use PM''s until MIKE mentioned Profile Comments , so I never knew any better, which is why I never thought of it being a pain to use. I still don't understand the use of Profile Comment. Presumably, it is for me to respond to a user that I don't want posted as a regular response in a thread. So my assumption is most of this type of communication is preferred to be private. So I just wonder when Profile Comment would be useful (for me) if the default is still Public viewing.
