Slightly off topic - not a pic of my Interstate, just a pic of its short-term general environment. For two days the news media warned of the coming African dust cloud, and it's a good thing they did because if they had not, a bunch of crazy buggers probably would have dialed 911 and reported it as the Second Coming or something (in a metro of 6.5 million people, it's good to keep the public informed because even a small percentage of people getting upset equates to a lot of people upset, LOL). Yesterday the news announced IT'S HERE (in all-caps) and then advised that skies would turn back to blue by Monday.

Puffy white clouds against a slate gray sky, but not caused by humidity (shadows were sharp and breeze was stiff). Take away a blue sky and it's amazing how every other color becomes muted.

Aerial view of Alumapalooza this year with my AI right smack in the middle of the picture. The AI really looks narrow among all of those trailers. My blue patio rug at the door really shows up and my Smart toad is parked right next to the patio rug.

For some reason, I ended up in a nice wide site. I made them move me twice so that the foot of our beds would not be higher than the head. It takes a lot more blocks than I carry to get the back end up enough to make a difference.

I captured this photo off the Airstream site. The Airstream solar farm is at the top left of the photo. It is quite extensive.

We have a small boat that a very good friend lets me store in his backyard... went this weekend to check on his house and could not resist to take a photo of the AI...

Just happens that we were in the AI going to the local dump station and also filling the propane tank... friend was out on vacation and we stop by every other day to check that everything is fine with their place.

A pretty nice RV park with a world-class gun range attached.

Cherry Creek State Park

Camped at Cherry Creek State Park in the heart of Denver. Can’t do this in Houston's Herman Park.

Houston- Silverton - Houston for some serious ATV riding. Pulled 4400 lbs at 14.4 mpg. Not bad considering climbing over 10k ft included Click image for larger version

Very cool! Guess I’m not the only AI owner who likes visits to old gravesites! One I’d like to see that I’ve read about is a waitress whose gravestone says “ I told you I was sick”.

Picture of your Interstate

Under a huge lottery sign In the French Quarter RV Resort in New Orleans today. $105 + taxes per night.
The “resort” is small but has all facilities including small pool, laundry, good security, etc; and is easy walking distance to the French Quarter.

We have enjoyed old grave yards wherever we go. The greatest is in Paris, Cimetière du Père Lachaise. Any graveyard with both Chopin and Jim Morrison is not to be missed.

Another is Boot Hill in Tombstone, for funny epitaphs, some of which might actually be authentic.

Not only that, the trip went something like this: home (Arizona) to Missouri to Niagara Falls (Canadian side and US side) to Virginia to North Carolina Outer Banks to Orlando to Key West to Naples to New Orleans.
Trying to get through Dallas was a nightmare, even the gps was confused.
Currently in Amarillo heading home.
41 days. Trip odometer reads 6574 miles. And I’ve added no DEF!
