Paper towel holder

I know this seems like a weird question.. But has anyone attached a paper towel holder? I'm afraid to attach one above the sink... Not sure if I will hit an internal wire while trying to screw it in...

I hate to put screw holes in my trailer so I use double sided heavy duty mounting tape from Scotch to mount a lot of things, including the paper towel holder. I mounted my solar charge controller with it too. In the TV, I used it to mount the brake controller.

I generally use the gray, outdoor type. It has a red backing liner so it looks red in the package. When removed, it will come off most surfaces without any damage to them. If you make a mistake in where you put the item mounted, you can remove it and with new tape, re mount it.

You can carefully drill thru the metal over the kitchen in our Interstate Motorhome. Wrap some tape around the drill bit about 1/8" up from the end. When drilling, stop when you get to the tape and you will not be getting into the wires above. We've done it. I use a s drill-stop-guide which can be accomplished with tape too. I then use a tap and cut threads into the metal and use stainless steel threaded screws, I believe size #2 or #3.

I like this! Right now we just use a stand-up holder that sits on the counter in a corner.

I used the same one in my Interstate. Mounted it against the side wall just forward of the sink in galley. Mounted it on laminated/wood panel next to wall. Click image for larger version

Do you have trouble with the roll unwinding as you drive?

I bought mine on amazon, it clips over the cabinet door. We reverse it into the cabinet when we travel so it won't unwind. I actually bought two different styles, one holds the paper towels horizontally the other vertically. We prefer the horizontal mount.

I mounted mine on the bottom of the table top so that when the top is in the stored position on the right side of the sink cabinet the paper towels are right there next to the sink. On the rare occasion that we use the table top, we take the roll off of the holder and the holder has not been in the way. I mounted it with double sided tape. I flatten the roll a bit and it doesn't unwind. The holder I used has little round rubber balls on the ends that provide a bit of resistance.

No trouble with it unwinding because where mine is mounted the roll is against the side wall panel. There is enough friction with the wall to prevent unwinding.

I put my paper towels and paper plates (and dish towels & place mats) in the microwave while en route.
