Pasting here for my reference as I tackle some squeaks. The modification I made to that access cover did not get rid of the squeak, snap, crackle and pop that I was hearing... I mean, it seemed to have stopped at first, only to start hearing it after a few miles on the road.

Response from Blue Sea (which is what Mike said ):

Quote:
Ah, OK.

Yes, it is possible for the ML-ACR to do that. You would use 2 of the SI lines. If two of the SI lines see battery voltage, it will hold the unit off and in stand-by for as long as both lines are energized, so it won’t combine the batteries.

The best way would be to wire one SI line to the Engine Ignition system, so it see 12V when the engine is running. Run a second SI line to the generator, so it sees 12V when the generator is running. What will happen is this: Assuming both batteries are fully charged at 12.9V and the ACR is closed (batteries paralleled) both engine and generator are off.

1. You turn on one of the engine

2. The ACR will sense the starting and turn off, isolating the batteries for starting. While the engine is running, ONE (1) SI line is energized. This will hold the ACR in stand-by for 3-5 minutes.

3. After 3-5 minutes the ACR will check the remote position and return to normal function, so in automatic mode, it would then combine both batteries to be charged from the alternator.

4. If you then started the Generator

5. The ACR will sense the start and turn off, isolating the batteries for starting. At this point TWO (2) Si lines are energized. This will hold the ACR in stand-by, until one of the sources turns off.

6. Say you turn off the engine, and leave the generator running.

7. Now ONE (1) SI line is energized, the unit will wait 3-5 minutes then resume normal operations. In automatic mode, the batteries will be combine to both be charged from the generator.

Best regards, Avery Stiles

Getting rid of the rear seat belts... they are just in the way and we do not plan to use the back for carrying people while traveling. We are just 6 with my wife, children, and in-laws, so those rear seat belts will be gone by Saturday.

You can see that I already removed the support slide rail for the side bed cushions. The cushions fall perfectly on top of the ARB cooler.

My plan, if there is a good source for continuous house power, is to install the 12 volts socket in that area where the water heater is... make a cut out on that panel and install the switches with the outlet there. That will give me 12 volts socket for the cooler and USB ports for anything else I might need. All switched.

The pod came with a sheet of stickers/labels to use with the lighted switches... I rewired the switches so the first one controls the USB ports, second one 12V port, third one is free for now.

In my case, it is not the Microwave. That much I was able to confirm.

Need to finish a few things:

1. Battery terminal protector in all cable ends:

2. There are a few bolts under the AI that are not protected. Will paint them with some rust-oleum to avoid rust.

3. Install power source for ARB cooler

4. Wife is telling me to not make the board/base for the chair bed... that she can sleep in the chair... don't tell her, but I am building the platform. She can sleep in the bed with the kids and I get the chair with the platform. Will keep it simple. Making the platform out of three wood panels and just using a sleeping pad on it. Will cover the wood with some vinyl to protect the chairs... nothing too complicated and should not take too much space.

5. The passenger chair (second row), does not turn around all the way. Hoping that I can just loosen the bolts and there is enough play/clearance in the base that I can slide it forward just enough to clear the back.

Bed platform

Work in progress... could not find adjustable and foldable legs locally, so using 2x2 cut to required length. will bolt them in place like normal wood legs would mount... later to be replaced with the adjustable and foldable kind (ordered from Amazon but do not get here in time for the trip).

Work in progress...

Platform done. Used 1/2" birch panel. 24" x 75" (just about the size of the sleeping pads you can get at the local camping store - those are 25x78")

Pending holes for legs. Using a T-nut and hanger bolts.

Also had some left over vinyl... not the color I would have wanted, but it was already in the garage, might as well use it... almost done...

Great work wachuko! But I was starting to wonder the same thing. You have done more in a few weeks than most of us do in years.

I sleep, I sleep... finishing all this in preparation for our first trip is due to all the encouragement of a great wife...

"GET ALL THAT CRAP OUT OF THE LIVING ROOM!!! NOW!!"

Sanded the corners and borders to avoid ripping the vinyl...

Even if this is just the platform, we put in some padding... some foam and padding...

Not an expert, we just folded the vinyl stapled everything and voila! Done...

Oh, and yes... we forgot the legs ... so I get to pull out a few staples to make the hole and put those in. Going to measure the length first.. back in a few minutes

2. There are a few bolts under the AI that are not protected. Will paint them with some rust-oleum to avoid rust.

Last but not least, when you get a chance make sure to check all the utility cut outs on the chassis body to make sure they are primed and rust proofed, mine were not done properly from the factory and paint started to bubble around the water inlets and battery vents, very difficult to repair later, mine is only 3 years old and already badly rusted.

Bed is done... legs will be replaced as soon as the ones ordered come in... and it stores nicely behind passenger seat. Legs have pads to not damage the floor and they just bolt into the t-nuts.

I will get the 2" sleeping pad from Academy Sports to complete the bed. Feels comfy even without the pad...

Substitute the word "garage" for "living room" and what you've got is a "welcome to MY life" situation...

On other note...cleaning up the mess at home ...found the switch that is supposed to be used to avoid battery drain... carp, forgot that one... need to go back to look at those details and see if I can do this before heading out.

I am finishing the cornhole boards today...got some LEDs for the holes that I want to install... and the UCF decals came in yesterday and daughter wants those on there.
