Forgot to add these photos to previous post...

Laminate is the same color and pattern...

Just different texture... stock finish is smooth... If I ever get another sheet of laminate I will make sure to get the matching texture as well...

This is done... left the supports in the same position...laziness on my part... and I know some of you would ask why even bother... but to me it just looks finished correctly now...

Rubber trim to avoid vibration noise...

And I covered all the open slots...

It is not a difficult diy project. Earlier in this thread I provided the list of parts needed from 8020.net

2 - 1517-LS - 1.5" x 1.5" x 58"
4 - 1502-LS - 1.5" x 1.5" x 9"
2 - 1575 - 1.5" x .75" x 16"
2 - 1502-LS - 1.5" x .75" x 12"
4 - 2035GRA these are plastic end caps
4 - 3274GRA these are the plastic plugs to secure the end caps
14 - 3360 - these are the Anchor Fastener Assembly
1 - 6060 - Drill bit for the Anchor Fastener Counterbore... l can do the holes/bores at home, just needed the correct bit. This way I avoid having to pay them to do it. But if you do not want to even do this, the guys at 80/20 can do these for you...

The shelf insert size is around 13.5" x 56.5" (I forgot to take the final measurement on this one... will update when I find it) and you can use many different materials for it... initially I wanted to use a perforated aluminum sheet (so it looked cool) but ended up buy a solid sheet locally to avoid the wait...reason why I wanted to cover it with matching laminate...

The size and dimensions I used are well thought out... It had to work with the bed fillers on the side coming down... Also, I could not do it wider nor lower to avoid someone hitting their head when seating on the bench... The shelf is behind the bench not over it, but close enough that I need it to take into account someone sitting there and not hitting their head. They would have to intentionally tilt their heads back to hit it, but that is also why I used the curved pieces... So several limiting factors taken into consideration for how we wanted to use it...

These dimension would change if you do not care about those side cushions or whatever else is important or not in your situation...

It is held in place in the same location where those flimsy cloth hangers were... but I used T-Nuts on the inside and regular bolts from bellow to make sure it was held well in place..

You could, and I just do not remember why I did not do it like that from the get-go... you could place the supports on the sides and free up the complete shelf... I was going to do that yesterday and laziness got the best of me... Will keep it like it is and call it done, lol. Well...might still move them...

Something that I did not get to yesterday was installing the manually controlled light in the bathroom... similar to what John did. This is to avoid having to find in the digital display the option when one is half asleep and without glasses...

Well, wife asked me why just not install it with a motion sensor and avoid the switch completely...

Using something like this:

110 Degree PIR Motion Sensor Light Switch with Adjustable Time Delay https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0771HGTRQ..._RyO6Cb687KSP3

It has a timer that will keep the light on up to 4 minutes...

I would still like the switch but just to make sure it is powered completely off when in storage... and because I already got the switch!

Finally got around to printing the plans for the front dash-mounted table.

Thinking, to make it lighter, to do it out of 1/2" wood paneling... and just double it at the border towards the dash for mounting the Button-fix type 2 brackets... or to just do it all out of 3/4" paneling... have not decided. For those that know how to work with wood, any benefits using one versus the other??

The table is approximately 19" x 21"

I might change a few things from the plans to better hide some of the hardware. The plan is also to cover it all with the leftover TB laminate that I have.

Baby steps... but dashboard shelf board cut...

Now to do the cutouts to install the brackets...

Want to cut and pre-assemble all the parts before I start covering it with laminate...

Only need to remove some of the panel to have the bracket sit flush... almost there...

But looks like I removed too much from the inside, bracket needs to come out just a bit more. So I will have to put some washers to push out the bracket... oh well

Rear door ladder arrived! I will be installing it in the right door... do not want to deal with relocating the license plate...

Will you put bumpers on it so when you open the door all the way it wonít hit the paint?
Of perhaps with your model you donít do that ?

Does not hit the side panel when fully open. I checked on that before buying. I was buying it anyway, but was great to know that it did not hit the side...

Correction. It WILL hit the side panel if you try to open it all the way... be aware!

Ladder installed... did the install on the left door instead of the right. Initially I was going to install it on the right to avoid messing with the license plate. Well... turns out that if I center the ladder, the tag is clear. So that is what I did.

Also, for the life of me, could not figured out why it worked for this guy opening the door all the way and the ladder not hitting, since in my install, the ladder would not open all the way without hitting the taillight and side panel...

Then I watched the video closely... sure enough... the door on his Sprinter has a longer door stop...

At the end, I could not get both things to work... if I install the ladder to that the bump stop clears, then the license plate is not in the clear... not having to mess with relocating the tag took higher priority so that is how I ended up installing it.

Instructions calls for 10-1/2" from the border of the door. To clear the tag I did the install at 8-1/8".

Changed the step for one similar to what Alex has... longer, silver (well, aluminum). This works better with getting to the ladder.

On the cover for the floor... I still can't get the stain color right... first one was too red, this one is too dark... have I mentioned that I suck at wood working?

And tested a small Nespresso machine... works with the stock inverter (completely off shore power). Now the wife does not have to wait for me to make her coffee... and I can take my time making a real espresso without being rushed, lol.
