Ah yes...on the recall.... My first return visit to dealer was to install a battery temperature probe. While I was there they replaced my regulator...before I had heard about the recall.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious but when I first got my coach a fellow at the storage lot came over and gave me one piece of advice: After storage you must purge the propane lines. After storage I turn the propane on and open the stove top and turn on all burners and turn the piezo spark igniter continually until all burners light (about 30 -40 seconds). I leave the burners on and I run the furnace for a few minutes. Then I shut off the burners / furnace and fire up the fridge and hot water heater which are prone to ignition time out if gas is not immediately available. Works well every time.

Just to clarify, the genset is cranking but the motor won't run, right? There are several posts about bad regulators, low oil level, and clogged breather tube (mud dauber nest). Our 2011 had the mud dauber nest in the rubber breather tube but after cleaning the mud out I still couldn't get it to run. I eventually did what the poster above did by running all the propane appliances for a few minutes (not the water heater if coach is winterized). Then I cranked the genset numerous times (no more than 10 secs at a time). I let it cool a minute in between cranks. It took about 10 crank attempts and then it came to life. Give it a try. Good luck!

Not sure if it was explicitly said or merely implied, but the coach batteries (switch by the door) need to be on to open that LP solenoid.
My fridge and LP detector are enabled by plugging into shore power, and don’t need coach power.

I AM AN IDIOT. Went out last night to do more investigation. Propane furnace works, didn't realize you had to push in button on stove to get propane to flow.
Must be an issue with generator. These forums are great but they just can't fix stupid.

I recall reading about a small (5 Amp?) fuse somewhere in the wiring within the generator enclosure. I don't know what that fuse does, and cannot find it anywhere in the two manuals; so maybe I am mis-remembering. Perhaps the fuse (if it exists) allows cranking but not starting.

Far as I am aware a tripped 120 V breaker will not prevent cranking or starting, it only prevents power from being delivered.

Per the manual there is a blinking code (on the start switch light?) that is supposed to help you diagnose problems.

yep I tried to read the code yesterday but didn't have my glasses on. Is it easy to access the generator? I am assuming it has a spark plug but I may be wrong? Its getting close to needing its 150hr service but its a pain to take it in if ti is just a simple fix to buy me time until spring. We use the coach all the time.

I had a similar problem with my Onan generator a few years ago. In my case, the voltage regulator was fried. Literally. I saw the one that was removed, and the circuit board was scorched.

While the generator is cranking, the house batteries provide the electricity for the spark plug to firte on the ignition stroke. But as soon as the generator starts, power for the spark plug comes from the generator itself through the voltage regulator— not from the house batteries. So with a bad voltage regulator, the generator cranks, starts, but dies immediately on the very next ignition stroke where the plug doesn't fire. And if you're still holding the start button, it immediately switches back to house battery power and the starter keeps turning, so it seems as if the generator never started at all.

Hopefully that's not the problem you're having. But it's something to consider.

I drop the spare tire and then have easy access to the panel on the rear of the generator. (Putting the rear tires on ramps or leveling blocks helps too.) This is the panel you remove to check and add oil. Not sure if you can access the sparkplug via this panel too. Replacing the spark plug would be an easy thing to do. I bought a spare to carry with me, but haven't needed it. While you are in there, check the oil level too. Low oil level (or pressure) will cause it to shut off - not sure if it will prevent starting.

If it has sat a while you might also check a small rubber hose sticking out the bottom of the generator pan. The hose is a vent to the atmospheric side of the LGP fuel pressure regulator. It should not be plugged. It might have a piece of breathable foam stuck in it to prevent wasps and other insects from getting into it and plugging it.

Well, the furnace works, the stove works does, not necessarily mean the generator engine gets LPG to run. It is a bit more complex.

Not to repeat a long story, please read my earlier post.

No LP

on my 2009 Interstate their is a small mechanical valve in the line from the tank to the interior appliances. It’s located close to the tank side.

Update just got rig back from generator specialist. Turned out to be bad ignition coil 264.00 up and running.

Doc,
Thanks for following up with the final resolution. I have not seen that particular solution on the gen set "no start" problem threads. That will be very useful for others down the road.
