No 120 VAC w/ generator or inverter

In addition to the generator dying periodically, sometimes with no load, towards the end of the day the 120 dropped out. When we stopped, I checked all the breakers and reset but no joy. Out of ideas. Grandkids not happy campers with no TVs.

Sounds like a bad transfer switch if you're not getting any 120VAC into your breaker box from either shore or generator. IIRC, they are located on the driver's side against the exterior wall.

Can't try shore power right now but the transfer switch shouldn't affect the inverter output should it? When I got to our stop in Mobile, I found that manual says the. inverter has a GFI breaker and/or two circuit breakers. Not real clear which. Will look for them in the morning.

Also would the A/C still run if the transfer switch was FUBAR?

In the AI, the inverter has a dedicated circuit for the output, which, if you have the Magnum, has an output breaker on the inverter along with an input breaker. There should also be a dedicated breaker for the inverter on the 120 VAC breaker panel.

Not sure if the Trippite has AC breakers on it.

I checked both the breakers on the TrippLite and they were fine. I guess I'll have to check when I get home the transfer switch. Thanks

You might have had a power surge that took out your transfer switch AND the inverter fuse. That should be checked also, although they are for the DC side input from the batteries to the positive inverter terminal.

I'll check that also when I get home Saturday. Thanks again. Maybe it is telling me that it's time to get a Magnum inverter.

Just hooked up my little 150W inverter in the 12V outlet by the front TV. That should pacify them for a bit.
