Nice to be "Vintage"

Just noticed AS has discontinued the standard length AI for 2016. EXT only. Now we can hold our heads high as we roll into the northwest Vintage meet in Wenatchee WA early in August. Proud to be vintage at last! FYI. Our other car? Black 2006 Honda Element, another vintage piece, discontinued by Honda. We'll soon have our own rolling museum.

Still not vintage until it's 25 years old. As evidenced by the fact that when I joined VAC during the WBCCI International at Farmington it was as an associate member, not a full member.

Discontinued, then old, then vintage, and antique at some point and time.

Enjoy your status at whatever juncture you might be.

25 years. Let's see, that would make me 92 when our AI goes "true" vintage. Meanwhile we'll just pretend.

Where does that place my excellent, near original 1964 Tradewind?

Since you have the only AI with an "Airstream" logo on the front and back... I guess that also makes you not only vintage and classy, but... unique!

I enjoy my 1955 vintage riveted aluminum airframe trailer. She has her door in what many admirers consider to be the wonderful rear-entry position -- just delightful for a 15' ball-coupler-to-rear-bumper trailer. But I know trailer collectors who are only interested in pre-War aluminum trailers, which of course includes the Airstream pre-War models. Now them are vintage.
