mystery In Dash Message

Indash messages: My 2008 Freightliner / 2009 Airstream Interstate "Operating system with steering wheel buttons" has a message that says, "AUX-LAMP ACTIVE" No one can tell me what it means let alone correct it and remove it from the messages! The dealer said their computers aren't getting any reading when they plug in. The only service I have had recently is the rear backup camera was replaced and a Wilson cell phone booster antenna was installed. HELP!Click image for larger version

Can't remember but does your third brake light have a switch under it for a cargo light? Been too many years!

"Proch-type, sliding door light" may not be turned off. There should be a switch, or has been on several I have been in and around, that turns the light on. The light itself may be the step light.

Mystery message: Avionstream & Overlander63 Thank you for your suggestions. No switches or lamps around the third brake light. The entire step / awning wiring was replaced last year after numerous problems. The assembly is all electronic now. No more switch. no more problems! Thanks again. Still open to suggestions.

Hi, I just had a similar problem with my 2015 Interstate where my indicator showed my tail lamps and parking lamps being out right after I had an alarm installed. I took it back to the installer who solved the problem by installing diodes on each wire for each lamp. He said that normally only one is needed but Mercedes installs are different. Hope this helps

Buzz118; Thank you. I'll let the dealer and installer know. So far no one has been able to figure it out.

Thanks for everyone's input. The problem turned out to be a clipped light switch wire when they were feeding the antenna wire through the firewall. No one knew or figured out how or why the message popped up on the dashboard message. Once the light switch wire was fixed the message disappeared.
