Mysterious beep beep beep

Hello everyone. During our spring break road trip from NC to Colorado, we noticed a faint beeping sound coming from the van. We had driven about 6 hours without the beep, stopped, refueled and when we turned the van on, there it was. No warning messages anywhere, not chirpy like the detectors and it still continues even with the battery powered off. It only stops when the engine is off. Nothing seems amiss. Again, very faint beep. Any ideas?

Maybe a door isn't completely closed? Service due? Seat belt not fastened?

We checked all those things. I would say it even sounds like the faint beep is coming more from the front of the vehicle.

Most likely is the awning is not fully retracted. It can vibrate loose because the only thing holding it in place is tension on the fabric. Try letting the awning out about a foot, then fully retracting it again. The beeping should go away.

We stopped and it does sound like the beep is coming from the awning. We extended it and retracted it but it's still beeping. We had a lot of winds through Kansas. Do you know if there is a way to disable the beeping for now?

The beeping wouldn't come from the awning; it would come from near the sliding door and under the floor, because that's where the alarm itself is located. Important to note, the sliding step shares the same alarm, so if it's not the awning it might be that the step isn't fully retracted. If the step isn't fully retracted, don't force it; that would only strip a gear and make it so it won't move at all.

Other possibilities include the LPG detector, which can beep once every 30 seconds or so if there's a fault code. The light on the detector would also be flashing red or orange instead of flashing green if that was the case. Pressing and holding the "test" button should allow it to reset.

Also, the smoke/CO detector might beep if the batteries are low. Even if you have a detector that's permanently wired into the house electrical system, there's still a battery backup, and when the batteries get low the detector will beep.

thank you! Thank you! The beeping was coming from the floor next to the sliding door. We inspected the step carefully and an anti slip strip was loose. We removed it and the beeping stopped. Now we can drive in peace.

In our copious experience, that would not result in a "faint" beep. More like a blast-your-head-off beep. But it can happen due to voltage issues - more than propane can trigger it, which is worth remembering.

One more place it could have been is when there is TOO MUCH OIL, after the oil warms up and expands there is a beeping to get your attention and a message on your instrument panel. I only wish I remembered what the message said. Happened when first got our Interstate 3years and 45,000 miles ago and the crankcase was overfilled during service. AEW
