Mounting Camco Olympian 5500 grill

Help on this one...this grill has rail you mount to side if coach (small, chrome channel rail). The bracket holding grill slides in it and has foot brace on side of coach.

Question...I have to attach channel to coach. What is safe place to do that? Any ideas? Thanks

I can't help you with mounting on an Interstate, but where did you get a "chrome" rail. Mine is white powder coat and I want a silver one to put on my trailer.

Thanks,

Al

The passenger side rear door should be a good place. That keeps the grill out from under your awning. You could use the grill with the door closed or open 90 degrees. If you want to bolt the rail to the door it's easy to remove the inside panels on the door as well.

Absolutely agree with Protagonist. It's the safest, smartest, easiest access and you have room to backup the bolts with a bar on inside of door and hidden by the inside panels.

I should have said that about the backer bar. Through-bolted, locknuts, and when you drill the holes for the bolts, don't forget to paint the cut edges of the holes to prevent corrosion!

Nthanks for advice!

As usual, mr protagonist, your advice is terrific. That's what I'll do.

BTW, I haven't opened box yet and I read strip was chrome, but I don't know that for a fact yet.
