Microwave quit on Apollo 1/2 Time Convection

Anyone had any issues with the microwave part of their Apollo 1/2 time Convection Oven quitting. Our microwave arced and sparked the second day we owned it when we went to reheat some calzone for breakfast while boondocking in the Black Hills.
I pulled the unit and found a diode wired from the capacitor to the frame that had burned through the casing of itself.
I called the manufacturer and they said the repair kit is $149.00 and it may or may not work.
Is there any other brands out there someone else has used that fits in the opening of the Interstates galley?

My 2004 EXT has a Cuisinart CMW-200. Like many of these appliances, Airstream uses a metal surround to bridge the gap between the sides of the cabinet sides and the microwave sides.

Sorry...I should clarify. The diode is internal on the microwave connected at the capacitor and wired to the microwave/oven. The only connection for the microwave/oven to the Airstream is through the power cord.
