Maintenance / Service
I'm getting close to 10,000 miles on the Interstate. Can someone please give me the details of Schedule A and B service.
Thanks,

That's Sprinter service, not Airstream service, and is found in the Sprinter Maintenance Booklet, pages 10 through 12. You need to take it to a Sprinter dealer for that work; your Airstream dealer can't do it, and neither can a Mercedes dealer that doesn't sell Sprinters (they usually don't have service bays big enough— that's why I had to go to a Mercedes dealer in Baton Rouge, when I live only a mile away from a Mercedes dealer that doesn't sell Sprinters).
The 10,000-mile service is an "Oil Service Plus" or "A" service. The 20,000-mile service will be a "Maintenance Service" or "B" service. After that it alternates.
I just had the 10,000-mile service done (at 9920 miles, so I wouldn't get past-due messages during my next trip). It only took a couple of hours, and ran a little over $200, but I had already added 2½ gallons of DEF, so they didn't have to do that during the service.
I strongly recommend you add your own DEF as well, if it needs it. Mercedes sells DEF by the liter, and uses their own proprietary brand, which will cost 4 or 5 times as much as if you buy in bulk (2½-gallon jugs) at Walmart, O'Reilly's, or other auto supply places. All you have to do is make sure the DEF is labeled with "ISO 22241" and it's good for your Sprinter.

What does a "B" service run? Is the oil synthetic?

Don't know the price of B service; haven't needed it yet. I'll defer that answer to others. But Mercedes uses Mobil One synthetic oil in all of its Sprinters. That much I do know.

Do you get your maintenance/service at a Mercedes Benz dealer, do it yourself, or found another auto dealer to do the work?

We do routine service generally twice a year, costs $275-$300. This always seems to include an air filter, due to the way we like to camp---and where.
All our routine maintenance is done by Peterbilt.
Tire rotations are separate, and free with the purchase of tires.
Doug doesn't think the oil is synthetic, but isn't sure.

I will have my service work done at a Freightliner dealer. They tell me they can do warranty work for Freightliner and Mercedes. I bought the unit used but have two years left on the engine.

Our posts overlapped. We use Peterbilt here, and love them. Good work, reliable, great customer service.

If you decide to do your own DEF refill as Protagonist suggested which is a whole lot cheaper, take a look the small size of the fill opening so you'll have a funnel small enuf to fit.

No need. If you buy the DEF they sell at Walmart, it comes with the right size spout. A long flexible spout, so you can insert the end first, then tip up the container to pour.

I forgot about that. Was remembering my experience when I was in Florida and just bought a gallon at a parts store to get me home. Made a funnel out of aluminum foil.
A bad feature about the small opening is there no way other than sound to tell when it's about full since the tube is black.
