Turning to the forum again for help. This weekend for the first time I had trouble running the AC with the generator on. Please note no other major power sources were on such as the microwave or anything else. With the generator on the power control system shows 7 amp draw! When I adjust the magnum inverter charge rate to 50% instead of 100% that number drops to 3. So I am assuming the power draw preventing me from running AC is the battery charger. The magnum doesn't switch from bulk to float even with battery voltage at 13.5. I remember before it seems like battery voltage went to 14 or above. Is it possible for batteries to be bad? We store the RV for a few months with it plugged in to AC power. Also can anyone advise if I have correct settings on the magnum?? AGM type 1, charge rate 50% or 100%??
This is a new problem as previously AC would run fine on the generator.
A while back Airstream sent me the attached pdf of the recommended Magnum settings, and I've distributed it here before.
I've run this by Lew our resident guru, and the only changes he would recommend are to change the charge rate to 100% and the LBCO (low battery cut off) to 11VDC.

My AI shipped at 50%. All was well. I upped it to 100% for faster charging and noticed the same issue as you. EMS assumes the generator is 20 amp feed and as such will shed that load when the Magnum is going full tilt. If you don't mind slower charging, by all means change it back to 50%.

The battery voltage is not correct when the charging is going on. It raises significantly due to the higher voltage of the charger. So you can't go by that. When you say "never," how long have you waited? And where there other loads?
But yes, if it never moves from bulk, something is wrong.
Yes. Even at full charging capacity of 50 amps, that is DC. The inverter will only draw approx. 10% of that in AC amps. Since it is using 120VAC and not 12 VDC.
