Last time I checked, Garner State Park had a 330 day reservation advance booking time required - reportedly, the longest in the entire state of Texas. And now everyone else on this forum can clearly see why that is the case. Holy cow - those photos!

In all my years in Texas, I haven't made it out there. One day when I have the time, I will focus on executing a strategy to successfully overcome the access pressures.

Stopped by once years ago without reservations and lucked into the second day of a no-show. The park is absolutely huge and the spring-fed river is unbelievably clear. The park is close enough to San Antonio to always stay full in season, just like Brazos Bend does with Houston.

The photos were taken from the bottom of the steps that ran down from my site on the bluff in Parkview RV Park, across the river. Garner was busy, but the commercial park was almost empty and had great access to the river, although down steel stairways.

Between-bed catchall

I used removed parts of the bed extension "garages" to build a small catchall and cup holder to mount on the electrical "hump" between the beds. The bottom will be lines with black padding and this will be a place for our glasses, watches, etc. at night.

Only project remaining is to build two magazine racks to go in the area vacated by the bed extension "garages." We will be gone for a week to the Texas Vintage Rally and I'll do that when we return. That will pretty much complete the project.

Installed my between-twin thingy this morning and lined it with black bunker-padding. This will be the place for watches, glasses, and rings in the night and a place for our drinks while sprawled on the twins watching TV. I'm real happy with how it came out.

We would never go back to the couch. We had an open house at the rally and everyone commented on how much better the twins were than the lounge that the dealer had on display. Everyone had to see the AI.
