It worked out well..
Just yesterday I took our Interstate on our first overnight sojourn. We were "camping" out in front of a friend's house (after a 4.5 hour 220 mile drive). It was just me and my 2 daughters and so I let them have the big bed space in back and I tried Jerhofer's arrangement of the drivers seat reclined to horizontal, but I removed the headrest and butted it up to the front of the 2nd row captains chair. I had pulled the 2nd row chair all the way forward and reclined against the cabinet behind it.
I hope you can picture it but it was sort of like a domestic first class seat on 737 but with a full foot rest (the drivers seat). I slept fairly well, had no back stiffness, and only stirred when the furnace kicked on. It was in the low thirties, so I had set it at 60 just to keep the chill off.
The girls were okay in the back, with their sleeping bags and pillows from home (and stuffed animals for the younger one). Though since we were on a slight grade towards the curb, the sleeping bags slid alot. Does anyone know if you can jam on a queen or full fitted sheet, to stop the slipness factor of the ultra leather?
