I Google the images for folding cots
Maybe deconstructing the legs and joining 2 together could work.
My goal is as big of a bed as possible

We made a bed for our 4 year old grand son by lowering the fron seat on to the second row seat about as seen in the pictures that Jerhofer posted. We then "filled" in with foam. The pieces we used are 5 inch thick and about 20" by 18.5" work pretty good we are planing on covering then and maybe adding some straps to keep them in place.

Coming along
Holes for tie downs that connect to cargo van's fasteners (loops) behind drivers and passenger seats. Stores uprighr against rear double doors.
Cut table post to lower table for center support.
Will glue carpet down then ready for air mattress or a foam pad

It worked out well..
Just yesterday I took our Interstate on our first overnight sojourn. We were "camping" out in front of a friend's house (after a 4.5 hour 220 mile drive). It was just me and my 2 daughters and so I let them have the big bed space in back and I tried Jerhofer's arrangement of the drivers seat reclined to horizontal, but I removed the headrest and butted it up to the front of the 2nd row captains chair. I had pulled the 2nd row chair all the way forward and reclined against the cabinet behind it.
I hope you can picture it but it was sort of like a domestic first class seat on 737 but with a full foot rest (the drivers seat). I slept fairly well, had no back stiffness, and only stirred when the furnace kicked on. It was in the low thirties, so I had set it at 60 just to keep the chill off.
The girls were okay in the back, with their sleeping bags and pillows from home (and stuffed animals for the younger one). Though since we were on a slight grade towards the curb, the sleeping bags slid alot. Does anyone know if you can jam on a queen or full fitted sheet, to stop the slipness factor of the ultra leather?

I keep my extra mattress under the big bed mattress, just slide it right under.

That sure won't work on an Interstate, because the big mattress is a sofa!

My first night in the Interstate was on a slight slope......spent a lot of time climbing back from cabinet. A 2" memory foam mattress stopped the slide and helped the comfort factor.

I almost have a solution here. With the seats turned toward each other as the photo at the top of the thread shows, a portable bunk solution like http://www.amazon.com/Disc-O-Bed-Cam.../dp/B00BGU41G2 would solve the problem. There is also a kid version called kid o bunk.
The problem is the bottom bunk is only 11 inches from the floor. We need at least 2 feet to clear the seats and have the lower bunk rest above the seats - as the bunk is about 10 inches wider than the between-the-seat area if that makes sense.
I'm thinking of contacting the manufacturer to see if they can provide an extension for the legs, or alternatively make something home made out of 6x6 blocks.
