Big rigs are the worst vehicles to be near or around, especially the double or triple trailers. In the mid 90's, my best friend was travelling southbound on I5 from SF Bay Area to LA. One double trailer big rig going northbound (a football field across) lost a wheel which rolled across to the opposite lanes and struck his car, totalling it. Luckily, he survived without injuries. But truck driver did not even know he lost a wheel. It wasn't until CHP recovered the wheel/tires and was able to track serial numbers to the truck. By that time, truck had already traveled all the way Reno before driver even realized he lost one when APB was sent out to CHP tracked truck down. Obviously TPMS was not yet a popular device on vehicles.

BTW, on my way back from Huntington Beach, CA last week, we got stuck in a 2hr. delay on northbound I15 to LV. The cause, a pickup truck with a huge TT flipped over because of a blowout on the TT. I am only guessing it also does not have TPMS. I say guess because I realize a TPMS does not guarantee tires won't blow. I just hope it gives me a few extra seconds to stop safely.

I don't stay near the truckers if I can avoid it. I had a trucker patient tell me one day that he had driven more miles asleep than I had awake....scared the crap out of me!

I don't know how the NCV3s handle when surrounded by big rigs, but the T1N will fish-tail in the wake vortices if they get too close (wake turbulence may be a more accurate description). It's simply not a do-able way to drive. I find that to be the most challenging part of any trip - not becoming the filling in a big rig sandwich.

My 2014.5 extended will fishtail gently if an 18-wheeler passes at speed and then pulls in close in front of me. Funny thing is that I can feel the coach wave, but I do not need to compensate in any way with the steering wheel. It is actually not disturbing to any extent. I just drop back a bit and everything smooths out.
