Spotted a 2004 Interstate parked at the Barlow. This was my first local spotting, the others were at 60mph going in opposite directions.

Sunday November 9, on Highway 1, around Seaside CA, about 11:30am. Spotted a Black one, would not venture a guess as to the year, I'm not that sure how to tell. We were headed north bound the black one was headed south bound. They waved. We waved. Interstate owners sure are a friendly bunch.

I guess it is, but on this months road trip I've driven IL to Vegas on HWY36 and I70 and didn't see a single AI! Then drove I15,I10 vegas to long beach, Ca with same results.

Feels kinda lonely ( I mean special ) lol. Mine is parked in Long Beach this week. ( I love that I can parallel park on a residential street! )

Sorry folks. I took it with my cell phone. It came out pretty good on the phone. I'll see if I can right it. I promise I'll get better at this.

That's a nice looking Sprinter, but it's not an Airstream Interstate.

Not even an RV. Note the low roof. This one doesn't even have stand-up headroom.

Does anyone have any stats on how many Interstates were produced during each model year? I looked for this info on the internet but did not find anything.

It can't be many. I live in a city of 6.5 million people and I haven't seen one yet. A few days ago, I had to drive to and from Beaumont for work purposes and I spent the entire three hours on IH-10 looking for Interstates. I saw every kind of Class A and Class C imaginable (the earliest wave of Thanksgiving mobilization was underway). I saw contraptions I hadn't ever seen before. I saw four Sprinters - two tradesman vehicles (one nondescript, the other with a 26-foot extension ladder on the roof - how the hell do they get it on and off?!), and two ambulances (one alive and screaming, the other deader than a doorknob and being transported on a flat-bed, because I'm told that's the only way that a Sprinter can be moved, so you better have a roadside protection plan that covers flatbed towing for your Interstate). But I saw no Interstates. I want to make a meme a la James Spader when he yells, "THERE'S NO DUST IN HER DUSTBUSTER" only have it read "THERE ARE NO INTERSTATES ON THE INTERSTATE" but White Palace is an old, obscure movie and I haven't yet found a suitable stock image.

I have no pics (so no bonus points) but as I drove home in our new silver AI Lounge EXT I spotted my first since being around the dealership (colonial) which was too much "fish in a barrel" to count. I was on I-287 NB near Edison,NJ. And I spotted a Silver sprinter RV (too quick to discern a make or model) travelling SB. About 12:30 pm on 11/19

T1N or newer? Dome on rear left or right? Solid silver or two-toned? I know one that looks like that but I thought they were heading east, not west.

I wasn't going to expend a dedicated thread reply on this non-Interstate, but it sure caught my eye, so here is a beauty shot. This just said "electric" on the back - it didn't say "hybrid" (dealer tags still on it, too). Love the contrasting gray stripe on the bottom. A simple people-mover, as near as I could tell. College Station TX, Thanksgiving Day, around 4 p.m., driving like a bat out of hell.

Spotted 11/28/'14: Beautiful black AS Interstate 3500 (at quick glance) on US 101 southbound near Bruceport (WA) pulling out from historical marker. We were headed northbound, not in our silver AS Interstate, heading home to avoid the torrential rains forecasted.

Traveling from Fredericksburg, TX Monday morning December 1st, we spotted our first AS Interstate on this trip. We did not see a number on that vehicle. We attached our WBCCI number (5109) on silver magnetic sign boards. When traveling, we will place them on the front and back of our Interstate so it will be easier to recognize when passing down the highway.

Hey andybree, did you get a chance to eat a hamburger at The Alamo Cafe?

Self proclaimed best in Texas and I haven't found better. They are 10 miles outside of Frericksburg and right next to Tunnel State Park which has a nightly flight of bats out of the abandoned railroad tunnel.

I have magnetic numbers for mine, too. I used to leave them on all the time, but once when I took them off to wash the van, I realized that there was some discoloration of the paint underneath.

Then I realized later it was the paint that wasn't underneath that was discolored. For reasons known only to Mercedes Benz, the white Sprinter vans don't get a clear-coat like the black and silver ones do, and there was some paint fading due to UV exposure, except where it was covered by the magnetic signs. So I took the signs off, and allowed the paint where the signs were to fade to match the rest of the van. Fortunately, faded white is just a whiter white, not really a color change like when some other colors fade.

I still carry the signs inside, and stick them to the outside when I attend a WBCCI function.

Even without the number signs, if you see me on the road you'll recognize me. How many white Airstream Interstates will you see pulling a white Honda Fit?
