The color you want is called "Bastard Amber":

Thanks, I will have to check that out as a more permanent solution
BTW Interblog, the dimmer on the newer AI does not work on the 2 lights over the rear lounge

After breaking 2 of the original rear reading lights, I had Colonial Airstream replace them with these.

Yes the main overhead have a dimmer but they still have that fluorescent ( I'm sucking the life out of you slowly look)
I changed the two lights over the bed to warm white led lights. They have the incandescent bulb look but are LEDs..
The rest of the bulbs I put the photo gel in them because the bulbs are all fused together.. Still wish they would put the warm led lights instead of the cool white.. But that's just my humble opinion...

Any chance you got the P/N for these?

Hmm Those look familiar Mario. Those are standard now for reading lights in AI.

Shark,
Checked the invoice and no part number was listed. However the part is called "LED Eyeball w/switch"

Grant,
Yes they are. I had something else in mind - the same lights that are in the ceiling - but that would have meant cutting separate small rectangular holes for the switches. These new lights are all integrated and look nice too.

The attached page from 2014 Interstate Parts Book probably has the part number of the eyeball light with switch. But no diagrams included in the parts book.
Enjoy,

I'm considering a 2015 AI Grand Tour, which has the electric couch, similar to a jacknife, in that you wind up with a lumpy bed. I thought of adding a couple of small mattresses, or some temper-foam, since they do not offer twin beds in the Grand Tour. Your idea of a hinged platform is interesting, but I hate to jury rig sleeping accommodations in a new, and quite expensive rig. Any other ideas out there??

I found the memory foam too bulky to fold up... After another lumpy night even with the memory foam, I bought 2 wamsutta cool & Fresh 4 inch toppers. For some reason, I feel the lumps less with these than the memory foam. The roadtreking blogger Mike Weiland recommended this brand in a queen size but I prefer the 2 twins. They roll up and fit in the side cubbies in the large compartment in the back.

I don't try to fold it up.
Keep the 2 drop down extensions for bed lowered. Roll up memory foam and secure with nylon straps with buckles and store behind lounge on drop down bed extensions. Cover with black cargo cover. Works awesome and can't even see it.

+1 on the Wamsutta Cool & Fresh. We liked it so much in the van that we added it to our bed at home.

I have 2 new mods today:
Chair removal & wardrobe hangers like the 2015 models
2nd row chair out, crates in! Colonial airstream unbolted the chair for me and put a nice aluminum play to cover the ugly holes.
My crates aren't that nice looking but one day I'll get some custom crates that fit the spot exactly. This setup works for now.
I'm happy to have a place to hang my show suits when I travel. Very satisfied with the service at colonial; it was faster and better than I expected.

Looks good. How did you attach the crates?

They have latches to stack them together but I also strapped them with bungie cords to be safer.

To be really safe I would suggest mechanically attaching them somehow to the floor or side wall of the van. The bungee cords will be no match for the G forces experienced in an accident.
