Ok, how did you reply that fast and with a picture that you added highlighted circles too!?

Look like they've added a stopper in the door. Didn't notice it until now. I can easily remove it...

Using a stubby screwdriver that I still don't have!

Hmm, our doors clearly do not open to the same degree ... strange. Looking at your pic the bin might come out and squeeze past the door that is. It's a tight fit sliding it in and out of the opening on mine, meaning the bin is tight in it's hole. You have to slide it straight in and straight out. However, I expect the snugness of that fit may very from coach to coach, it looks a like a hand cut hole so no two are going to fit exactly the same.

Microsoft paint is my handy editing tool. Crude by tech-y standards but fast and easy for tasks like this. The pic I took with my flip phone. The only thing I own with a touch screen is the Interstate and that in dash unit frustrates me to no end. I DO own a lot of hand tools though.

Ah ha. Now I managed to get in a post while you were still replying!

Once I remove that stopper my door should open the same as yours. Looks like they added it to make it easier to close from the inside since the handle would be closer to the bathroom wall and a bit more of a reach.

If the stereo in the AS was my only touch screen, I'd swear them off too.

While we're on the subject, and in the upgrades thread anyway, here's one of the upgrades I did that I'm quite happy with.

I mounted an ipad mini left of the rear view camera. It has a cellular connection and I use it primarily for navigation and pandora when its in the airstream. It's connected Bluetooth to the stereo which is basically just acting as a way to provide audio to the speakers. I seldom use the radio for anything else. I do have the media center audio routed into the 'video' input of the stereo so I can play the audio for that through the speakers as well. Using the 'audio' icon on the stereo lets me choose which audio I want to send where. If I select single zone I can play either pandora or audio from the media center to all speakers. If I choose dual zone on the stereo I can select Bluetooth (pandora) for the cab and video (media center) for the rear.

Usually when traveling my girls are watching a movie in the back and I have music playing in the cab.

Mount is made by 'RAM' which is a us company and widely regarded as the best in the industry. They make 3 different version on the ipad mini mount. This one is by far the best, but it took me trying both of the other options first to figure that out.

Here's a link. It's 2 separate pieces.

I added the door stop to mine because I saw no reason to open the door fully especially in the summer and let all the cool air get out.

I understand that Sprinter has an option where there is an intermediate stop in about the same location but you still can open the door fully if you want to.

I would be very interested in that. Are we talking about a factory option or aftermarket? If OEM, is it retrofit-able?

Usually all the way open is about twice as much as is needed, but I would not want to give up the ability to open it wide for loading large items, enjoying the view or airing it out.

If only that seat by the sliding door would swivel 90° to face the opening, so I could sit there to enjoy the view without getting a crick in something that takes too long to heal these days…

I'm not sure where you get it, but it definitely looks like it just bolts right on. Not sure if you can tell from the picture but it just sits on the rail and attaches with three screws to hold it in place.

Again, I haven't had a chance to get that damn stubby screwdriver I need, but after I do I'll remove it a take some better shots. It was really right and sunny when I took those and the contrast of it being in the shade makes it hard to see well.

Looks like it would be fairly inexpensive as well. Not much to it.

It's a Sprinter option that Airstream doesn't get. I order the new factory stop from the dealer.

Are you talking about the second row lounge seats?

Ours is a 2010 and it swivels out.

Here's a picture of my brother in law enjoying the views.

I used a lavatory chromed brass tube drain pipe for the generator exhaust because that was the only one I could find that was small enough. I got it at Home Depot. I used a Magnaflow polished stainless steel tip for the diesel exhaust. I did not weld it on but I drilled out the drain hole and tapped it and used a quarter inch stainless steel screw to clamp it to the pipe. I found the best price for that on Amazon.

Hi I am new to the forum and to Airstream as well as to the WBCCI.
Love what I reading hear and love my 2013 interstate. Not so much about the leadership of the WBCCI but I am to new to judge on this.
Of course as a German born and raised as well as trained engineer (notice but not trained in the english language too well) I also could not leave my Interstate alone.
Here is what I did to it so fare:
1. Had installed a Drone security system with remote start and app for the IPhone.
2. Had both side windows covered with dark foil. Not the little once.
3. Installed a Bora exhaust tip.
4. Installed weather mats in the front and remove carpet.
5. Removed all the stickers.
6. Installed Mercedes Benz badges on the Alcoa wheels.
7. Installed a step on the hitch.
8. Removed all the fancy velcro on covers in the back under the couch.
9. Installed wind guides on the front windows.
10. Installed license plate covers.
11. Installed a nice IPhone holder on the dash.
12. Installed a driving camera (Dash-view).
13. Removed back second row sets to install an office.
14. Installed tire pressure monitor.
15. Installed a Xbox360 for the grand kids to play.
Thanks to the forum I got many other ideas to tinker on it.
It looks like to be self sufficient is a must on repairs as my experience with the dealer is everything takes for ever and they need the interstate for a long time. I still have to work and use it for this and just cannot have it sitting around for days or weeks. The forum helps a lot to find and fix little problems here and there and not have to go to the dealer ship.

Could you please describe both the dark foil on the side windows and what tire monitor you installed.

Is tinting the 2 front large windows.
Just got the tire pressure monitor TPM with pass trough sensors so I do not have to remove the sensors. Everything I read about it they work OK and I purchased an extra one for the spare tire.
