I agree. The whole idea of making it movable was such a strange thought.

What they should have done was enlarged the whole bathroom out to where it expands to and like the other post said curve the edges.

Isn't there also about 6" of a fixed portion on the bottom floor part?

It's not like even the whole thing expands, just three feet of it.

I think I'm going to remove mine altogether next and replace it with glass

center red light

I am not an Interstate owner, so I don't know if the center red light above the rear doors should come on when you brake.
I was on HWY 41 in Milwaukee WI. A few vehicles in front of me was an airstream interstate. Traffic was heavy and brake lights were going on and off. I noticed the Interstate brake lights on both right and left side going on but not the center top light. Because traffic was heavy, I was never able to get along side of him or her.
I know every owner of an airstream is not on the forums but I tried to look him or her up with no luck.
So I thought I would post here hoping someone might know him or her.
Wisconsin Plate "RV 4 PUGS"
Sorry I do not have a clue what year. It was either silver or white.
If the center light should not come on when you brake, NEVER MIND

I assume it would come on like most auto's.
I was just hoping this interstate owner would see this and know his or hers is not working.
Or someone else might know who the owner is.

If they have a rear-view camera, and if the camera is working, and if they happen to be looking at the monitor screen when they hit the brakes, they should see a flash of red in the monitor; the center brake light is close enough to the camera's fish-eye lens to cause a lens flare when the brake light comes on.

And the sun has gone down and it is dark out and it had just rained and a drip of water is just coming off the camera lens just at the moment he/she is pressing on the break light and so on and so on...

Latest upgrade

In our 2010 interstate

Replacing the second row captain chair adjustable strap seat belts with retractable seat belts.

Newer versions seem to have incorporated into seat.

No more straps hanging all over.

I put a couple of retractors on the aisle side that I had from the 60s before cars came w/ retractors. They're a little bit clunky but better than having belts flopping around. They're just a little spring loaded cylinder that clips onto the belt.

Where did you get your retractors?

If you're going to modify your seat belts, and still want them to be legal, here are the seat belt regulations:

Standard No. 209; Seat belt assemblies. - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Love the teak mat! Made from scratch or cut down from something one could go buy and modify? If you want to make another I am a buyer!

Nice teak matt. Do tell, did you fabricate it or did you buy one and modify?

It was custom made and for $350 plus tax and shipping one can be yours too!!

I'll also post some underside pictures. It has white rubber feet to avoid sliding and scratching fiberglass. And all screws and washers are stainless steel.

I looked everywhere for one and realized i had to go by the motor, if you want something done right you do it yourself.

I will post contact info shortly.

p.s. It smells good too!!
